It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Father Robert D. Chryst who died Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the age of 82 years old. He was a priest of the diocese for 56 years who served the people in the City of Syracuse both at St. Lucy’s and St. Anthony of Padua.  He was Director of the Spanish Apostolate serving the Latino population since 1969.  He retired from the Spanish Apostolate and as Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua in 2021.  We are most grateful for his ministry as a civil attorney and priest in the Diocese of Syracuse. 

 

All arrangements will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1515 Midland Ave. Use the Fage Ave entrance for parking or street parking on Midland Avenue or Colvin Avenue. 

 

Note: Per Fr. Chryst’s wishes, the vigil will be predominantly in Spanish. All are invited to enter into this prayer and participate. ~ Fr. Brendan Foley will be the celebrant.
